The National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) has provided a submission to the Joint Standing Committee on Migration’s Inquiry into Australia’s Skilled Migration Program.

Our submission emphasises that migration policy must be considered alongside housing supply, infrastructure delivery, economic development and community wellbeing. Growth area councils are often at the frontline of population change, yet settlement patterns do not always align with the timing of transport, health, education and community infrastructure.

NGAA recommends stronger cross-government coordination so that migration settings, housing targets and infrastructure investment are better synchronised. This approach will help ensure that skilled migration supports inclusive, liveable and productive communities across Australia.
