Highlighting leadership in precinct planning and delivery

At the inaugural Australian Local Government Association Urban Forum, it was inspiring to see the depth of expertise demonstrated by National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) members in precinct planning and delivery.A sincere thank you to:- Mayor Glenn Docherty (City of Playford, SA) for a compelling story of council leadership through the Playford Health and Wellbeing Hub- Cr Todd Carney (GAICD), Mayor and Kylie Powell (Penrith City Council) for reinforcing how community-driven precincts can successfully reflect and respond to the existing identity of place- Sheena Frost (Hume City Council) for presenting the highly innovative and nationally significant Cloverton precinct, delivered in partnership with the City of Whittlesea and Mitchell Shire Council and- Damon Ehlers and Marie Phillips from Novoplan for reinforcing the need for sound management of developer contributions to help Councils deliver the infrastructure their communities need.These precinct presentations showcased three strong examples of local government courage, leadership, and persistence in shaping our cities.Well done to all involved for such insightful and impactful contributions.
