The Australian Urban Observatory has produced City Liveability Scorecards for Australia’s capital and major cities since 2018 to measure and monitor city level liveability averages over time. The City Liveability scorecards reveal wide variation across capital cities with a trend towards higher liveability in the inner areas of each city and reduced liveability in outer areas of each city.

The NGAA has partnered with the Australian Urban Observatory to undertake an analysis of liveability and produce a City Liveability Scorecard for National Growth Areas to investigate these city-wide variations.

These Growth Areas comprise 29 fast growing local government areas (LGAs) located on the outer metropolitan and peri-urban regions of Australia’s five largest capital cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
